An Average Idea from Lindsey Testolin on Vimeo.

Its exactly what the description reads, a jelloish pixel matrix of great labor. Also a great way to get those creative juices flowing on a Wednesday.

NY Blurred

Well this week has been really long, but alas it is Friday. What with the whole Plurk thing going down, catching up on designs and logos finally being approved, its been quite eventful. Now I’d just like to relax and unwind this Friday, and well music is the best way to do this. So here you are, my Friday tunes, just for you to enjoy on your Friday. Can you guess the theme? Well its all about unwinding… and who wouldn’t love to be in NY, doing just that.

A Celebration of Vintage and Retro Design

April 24th, 2008 | Category: Inspiration, Illustration, Design

Smashing Magazine has compiled a pretty neat list on retro design/illustration both past and present. Its great that we can take inspiration from old ads and bring them into something new. Design reminds me of the fashion industry, and that its ok to look at whats been done before and get inspired to come up with something all together brand new. Like a mixture of eras, good design is timeless. Here’s my favorite one from the list:

James White

Its done by the very talented James White, who also draws most of his inspiration by the past and a constant plethora of architecture and photographs.

For the rest look here. Its certainly worth the visit.

Also check out this Mid-Century Illustrated flickr pool for more goodness.
